Czocha Castle

Czocha Castle is a defensive stronghold located on the Leśnia Lake in Sucha in Lower Silesia. The history of the castle dates back to the 13th century - then the first border stronghold was erected here on the order of King Wenceslaus Přemyslid. The noble families living here rebuilt the property many times, including into their residences.

Today's look Czocha Castle owes the reconstruction commissioned by the then owner of the castle, Ernes Gütschow. It was built in 1912 by the then famous architect Bodo Ebhardt. He tried to restore the building to its form shown in the engraving from the 17th century. The reconstruction gave the castle a unique form, for which it is famous today. On the other hand, however, it contributed to the destruction of many layers of great artistic value that had been growing over the centuries.

Czocha Castle - information for tourists

Czocha Castle, due to its location, is an ideal starting point for tourists from Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic. We can get to the castle by taking the A4 motorway towards Zgorzelec, turning towards Lubań, through which we should go straight to the stronghold.

There is a paid car park in front of the castle, where you can leave your car (the cost of the car park is PLN 10). We can also reach the estate using the blue trail. It leads from the Ruins of Świecie Castle to Czocha Castle, along Lake Leśniańskie - this route takes about 2 and a half hours. walk, and a walk by the lake's surface can be a perfect addition to a trip to the stronghold. In addition, we can also get to the castle along the yellow trail, going on foot from the village of Leśna. This is a shorter route, scheduled for about 1 hour. and 20 minutes of walking.

Czocha Castle it is open to visitors from Monday to Sunday from 10:00-18:00 from September to June and from 10:00-20:00 in July-August. Entrance tickets to Czocha Castle they are PLN 28 – a normal ticket and PLN 20 – a reduced ticket (young people up to 15 years of age and people with disabilities).

The facility also offers family tickets 2+2 for PLN 130 and 2+3 for PLN 154. Importantly, ticket prices include guided tours, so you have the opportunity to learn about history and legends Czocha Castle.
