Sowie Mountains Landscape Park located in the Central Sudetes in Lower Silesia. The area of the park covers a part of the gneiss block of the Owl Mountains, which is the oldest element of the geological structure of the Sudetes from the Precambrian period.
Sowie Mountains Landscape Park was established in 1991 and has an area of 8.1 hectares. It occupies the area of the ridge from the Woliborska Pass, through the vicinity of Jedlina-Zdrój to the peak of Wielka Sowa (1015 m asl) as well as other hills such as: Słoneczna, Kalenica and Czarne Kąty.
Park impresses with its picturesque terrain - mountain landscapes demarcate valleys, with rock waterfalls and streams crossing them, overgrown with dense forest. The ideal vantage point from which you can see the unique qualities of the Owl Mountains is the Kalenica peak, on which the observation tower is located. In its vicinity there is the Bukowa Kalenica Nature Reserve, where a primeval, stunted beech forest grows.

Sowie Mountains Landscape Park - information for tourists
To visit Sowie Mountains Landscape Park choose one of the many trails leading to it. The Main Sudety Trail - marked in red - runs from Jedlina Zdrój and further. It stretches through the main ridge of the Owl Mountains from the Marcowa Pass to Wielka Sowa or Kalenica, to the Srebrna Pass. Its total length is approx. 38 km. A shorter, but equally satisfying route is the yellow trail running from Walim, through Wielka Sowa, to Pieszyce. The route is approx. 11 km long. An alternative, ideal for families with children, is the Nature Trail, about 3 km long, marked in green, running from Kamionka to Lasocin.
The Owl Mountains attract with their mysterious aura and undoubtedly many attractions.
