It was located in Staniszów, at the border of the village Sosnówka and Marczyce, only 20 minutes from Jelenia Góra. The ruins are located on the Grodno Hill at an altitude of 504 m above sea level. The castle was built in the Neo-Gothic style on a square plan. It is an ideal place for a short family trip.
History of the castle
The castle was built for quite a long time and finally its construction was completed in 1841, at that time the knight's Hunting Hall was built at the top of the pavilion. In the meantime, in 1818, a tower was added, 15 meters high. To reach its top, 77 steps had to be climbed. From the top of the tower you could admire the view of the entire Karkonosze range and the surrounding area.
The castle was part of the landscape park, whose center it was Palace in Staniszów. Currently, only one chamber, walls and the aforementioned tower, from which you can admire the views, have survived Sosnowka Reservoir and Snow White. This entrance is possible thanks to the renovation and construction of a new staircase, which took place in 2015-2016. The castle is currently in private hands.
