The Myślibórz Gorge is located in the Chełmy Landscape Park near Jawor. It is located in the Kaczawskie Foothills and is crossed by the Jawornik stream. The gorge is located in the area of the Land of Extinct Volcanoes, which reminds of the geologically very old origin of the local area. Ideal starting points for the Gorge are Myślibórz, Myślinów and Jakuszów, near which the park is located.
Mysliborski Gorge it stretches for 4.5 km. It creates a picturesque route with interesting geological forms, surrounded by rare plant compositions under protection. The main attraction of the gorge are the Small Myślibórz Organs. It is a natural monument and a 40 m high wall made of basalt pillars, resembling the pipes of a church organ. The organ is located near the small Rataj Hill (350 m above sea level). There used to be a medieval stronghold on it. At the moment, there are small fragments of it that are worth taking a closer look at.
Myślibórz Gorge - information for tourists
It is worth starting the trip in Myślibórz, where it is located Mysliborski Gorge. In the village there is a well-marked, paid car park (the cost of the car park is approx. PLN 5), located at the mouth of the Gorge, by the nature trail "Mysliborski Gorgewhich loops back towards the parking lot. In good weather, it is worth taking a lunch with you, because there is a bonfire site near the parking lot.
Passing through Myślibórz in the direction of the trail, it is worth visiting the town itself and the neo-gothic castle located there. Another way to Myślibórz Gorge there is a way out of Jakuszów along the black trail - the village itself is very pretty and it is worth taking a look at the buildings and the palace located here.
By going to Myślibórz Gorge it is also worth looking around the Kaczawskie Foothills and looking at the inconspicuous cones, which are many in this area - extinct volcanoes. On the path, pay special attention to the outcropping of sericite-chlorite shales. The multitude of basalt tusks as well as the fern under protection - the common tongue, delights. You will pay attention to many of these points thanks to the didactic boards placed along the trail.
