Draft beer for a wedding as an interesting attraction
A wedding is a special event. It is a time to celebrate a new stage in the lives of two people in love. In Poland, we like to celebrate at a table richly set with delicious food and in the company of refreshing drinks. Many people cannot imagine having fun without alcohol. Alcohol relaxes the atmosphere, and also gives courage to dance and participate in all kinds of competitions and wedding competitions. What's more, according to Polish wedding tradition, right after entering wedding hall a toast should be raised for the bride and groom - even a symbolic one with a glass of champagne or sparkling wine. Alcohol is therefore an inseparable element of wedding parties.
First of all, drinks at a wedding must be diverse. In addition to the aforementioned glass of champagne, at the beginning it is worth serving guests with good quality vodka, which is the most popular wedding alcohol. The wedding alcohol menu may also include wines, whiskey, colorful drinks, and even homely moonshine.
An interesting idea is draft beer for a wedding. Beer is a perfect solution for a country, rustic or highland party. It is not only an interesting addition to the wedding menu, but also a great attraction - the same as a country table or a chocolate fountain with snacks.

In addition to the excellent organization of the event, we offer our own brand of beer ... and more!
Types and types of draft beer for a wedding
A great idea for wedding party there will be craft or craft beer. Such liquors not only have a richer taste than classic corporate beers, but are also available in many different types and types. Craft or craft beer is something else. Something that can diversify the wedding menu in an interesting way.
Producers offer us a wide selection of beers. The easiest way to divide them is according to the type of fermentation:
- top-fermented ales,
- bottom-fermented lager beer.
The type of fermentation depends on the brewer's yeast used. Bottom-fermenting yeast ferments at lower temperatures, settles to the bottom and has a stronger effect on the release of carbon dioxide. As a consequence, the resulting beer is more refreshing and has a clean, full-bodied taste. The more expensive top-fermented ones ferment at higher temperatures, collect on the surface of the barrel and release more by-products, which translates into high aromatic and flavor qualities of the beer. It is worth serving a varied draft beer for a wedding. So that everyone can find something for themselves.
Draft beer or bottled beer?
Both bottled and draft beers have their fans. Some believe that the entire aroma and excellent taste of the drink is enclosed in the bottle, while for others, cask beers have the greatest taste and aroma. And how is it in reality?
The quality and taste of beer mainly depends on the conditions in which it was stored, transported and how it was served. The brewery should have the right serving temperature. It can't be too cold - which unfortunately is often practiced in bars. The cleanliness of the beverage containers themselves – i.e. barrels and bottles – is also of great importance. Transportation should take place in stable and calm conditions.
If not draft beer for a wedding, then what?
Draft beer for a wedding is a great idea. This is a creative attraction for wedding guests, which will provide them with a great taste experience and - if the wedding is organized in the summer - will provide pleasant refreshment. Beer kegs should be matched to the chosen style of the wedding. An elegant beer bar with a typical beer tap will attract the attention and interest of guests, and at the same time will be an element of the wedding arrangement. In the wedding hall (or in the garden, depending on where the wedding takes place) it is worth placing wedding signpostwhich will show guests the way to the beer bar. Thanks to this, the wedding guests will be able to approach the bar and pour themselves a beer at any time of the party.
And what instead of draft beer for a wedding? A great solution is to use beer in bottles. When deciding on bottled beer, you should ensure that the drinks are slightly chilled. The bottles can be placed, for example, in a stylish barrel, bucket or other container filled with ice.
Other interesting forms of serving beer at a wedding are:
- beer shots - beer served in the form of small shots is a great opportunity to taste drinks in various flavors,
- beer with lemonade - beer mixed with lemonade, i.e. radler is a refreshing drink, perfect for hot summer days.
Beer in a can will not be a good solution. Cans completely do not match the wedding atmosphere.
How much beer for a wedding?
Draft beer for a wedding is another expense. Estimating the amount of alcohol for a wedding is a problem for future newlyweds. The number of bottles of alcohol depends on e.g. from the number of invited guests. It is assumed that there is about 0.5 liters of vodka per adult. In practice, this means that for a 100-person wedding you need about 50 liters of alcohol.
What about beer? If beer is to be only an addition to another drink (usually vodka), it is safest to assume a conversion rate of about 0.3 liters per person - that is, with 100 guests, it is worth getting 30 liters of beer. If the bride and groom want beer to be one of the main drinks, a good solution will be about 1 liter of beer per guest, and at the same time reduce the amount of vodka.
Other attractions that will spice up the wedding reception
An interesting alternative to draft beer is wedding drink bar. The drink bar is an attraction that will appeal to both lovers of sweet, colorful fruit cocktails and those who love to try new flavors.
The drink bar can be served to guests in three different versions. The first is a classic bar operated by a professional bartender. Hiring an experienced bartender is a guarantee of excellent service and tasty drinks. The cost of renting a professional drink bar can range from PLN 1,000 to even PLN 4,000.
The second option is to hire a bartender who, apart from serving drinks, will present guests with a spectacular bartending show. Tricks with the use of bottles of alcohol, decorative glasses and bar equipment to the rhythm of energetic music is an excellent show that will delight guests and provide them with unforgettable impressions.
Our last proposal, and at the same time a cheaper alternative to the above, is a DIY drink bar, i.e. a bar where every wedding guest can become a bartender. In a home-made drink bar you should put:
- several types of liquors,
- bartending juices and syrups,
- fresh and dried fruit,
- cubed and crushed ice
- various glasses and glasses,
- straws and napkins.
On the counter, it is worth putting a plate with a few simple recipes for tasty drinks that can be made from available ingredients. It will be great fun for guests to prepare alcoholic cocktails on their own!
Another wedding ideas, as attractive as a drink bar or draft beer, are:
- Prosecco van - an original form of a mobile bar that serves refreshing sparkling wine instead of beer or colorful drinks,
- alcohol fountain - an alternative to the chocolate fountain; you can use wine, punch, beer, champagne or other drinks in it,
- fluorescent drinks, erupting volcanoes or alcoholic gummies.
